TWO MR. FOOTBALL WINNERS: The Mr. Football award goes to the high school player voted the best in the state. Panther offensive and defensive lineman Bo Barzilauskas was Mr. Football in 1993 and quarterback Rex Grossman in 1998.
TWO PANTHERS IN THE NFL: Bob Whitlow was a center in the NFL during the 1950s, mostly with the Detroit Lions. Rex Grossman is a quarterback with the Chicago Bears and quarterbacked them in the Super Bowl in the 2006-07 season.
45 PANTHERS IN THE NORTH-SOUTH ALL-STAR GAME: Going into the 2009 season, 45 Panthers played in the annual North-South All-Star football game. Quarterback Eli Stoddard was voted the game’s Most Valuable Player in 1994, quarterback Steve Sutherland in 2000, and quaterback Ben Chappell in 2006. Defensive end Steve Carmichael was voted the South’s Most Outstanding lineman in 1967, the first year of the game; wide receiver Charley Byrnes in 1969, end Kevin King in 1979 and tackle Bo Barzilauskas in 1994.

FOUR PANTHERS IN THE INDIANA FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME: Two former Panther coaches and two players have been inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. The late Fred Huff, Jr. was inducted in 1975 and the late Tom Sells in 2000 as coaches. Bob Whitlow, who played in the 1950s, was inducted in 2000, and Jade Butcher, who played in the 1960s, was inducted in 2007. SEVEN PANTHERS HONORED BY NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION: The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame honors players who have excelled as players, scholars and students in their high school careers. The Central Indiana chapter has given awards to seven Panthers since the organization was founded in the mid-1990s. Panthers who have been honored by the NFF:
